We believe it is important to recognize that Guelph is a
global leader in many rights. The city is growing and thriving
– demanding interesting experiences and this demand
influences the Food and Beverage market. To a large extent
the restaurant marketplace is dominated by corporate brands
and quick service fast food chains that deliver a tested
concept that is pushed into the city. This reality doesn’t align
with the fact that Guelph has some of the most direct access
to quality ingredients in Southern Ontario. We see that chain
restaurants, and other branded concepts have succeeded
in positioning themselves as more “Independent” and locally
relevant.
Our research indicates that that the Guelph marketplace is
responding well to the consistency delivered by corporate
brands, but still craves the vibrancy, creativity and storytelling
that an independent establishment can offer. A further
analysis is as seen in Appendix A. This is not only true of
Guelph, but can be seen in many self-confident marketplaces
within Southern Ontario. In this way, the Delta Marriott is
perfectly poised to meet this demand.
We believe the Delta Marriott restaurant is well positioned
to take advantage of the well established volume of Business
clientele in the immediate area, the excellent volume of
Conference and Event related Hotel Guests as well as
becoming a go to place for professionals within the adjacent
Research Park and University.
